REVIEW: Slumber by Samantha Young

Title: Slumber (The Fade #1)
Author: Samantha Young
Date Published: 5/7/11

Synopsis:
Molded by a tragic childhood, nineteen-year-old Rogan finds it extremely difficult to trust people. Now Haydyn, her best friend and the one person she does trust, is dying and only Rogan can save her.

Setting off on a journey to retrieve the plant that will cure Haydyn and subsequently the ills that will befall them all if she dies, Rogan is stuck in close quarters with a protector she distrusts above all others.

Wolfe Stovia.

The son of the man who destroyed Rogan’s family.

At a constant battle of wills with the handsome Captain of the Guard, Rogan just knows this adventure together will be fraught with tension. She never imagined, however, that the quest would be so dangerous… not least of all when she finds herself falling for a man she could have sworn was her no.1 enemy…

My Rating:

My Review:
I knew I was going to love this story from the beginning. The heartbreaking journey Rogan goes through as a child left me feeling so connected to her as a character.

Having had her family stripped from her at such a young age, Rogan now claimes Haydyn as her family. So when Haydyn becomes deathly ill and Rogan is the only one who can save her, she sets out on a dangerous mission.

The chemistry between Wolfe and Rogan is undeniable. The romance unfolding between them felt so real.

Rogan is one independent woman. She definitely makes her own decisions and sometimes they get her into major trouble.

They meet many characters along the way and I really think each and every one adds to the story in their own way.

I loved the world that Samantha Young has created. I can not wait to read more!
