YA PARANORMAL

Falling in love, baking a magical cake,
fighting an evil necromancer—it’s all in a day’s work for Audrey Oliver,
seventeen-year-old witch-in-training. When her mother goes missing and her mysterious "cousin" shows up out of the blue, Audrey knows something’s gone horribly, dangerously wrong. Now it’s up to her to get her own magical powers up to speed before everyone she loves is destroyed by the sorcerer intricately connected to her mother’s secret past.

My Rating:

My Review:
This is a great example of a well balanced YA novel. There were several things in this story that I love in a YA Paranormal!

#1 - Multi-deminsional characters who are easy to relate to and actually be compelled by.
#2 - Real life issues such as a young girl constantly feeling inferior to her own sister. I think this happens so often in real life.
#3 - A true love story that is not insta-love (which so often is in Paranormals), but a gradual romance between Julian and Audrey.
#4 - A plot that was not entirely predictable. There were a couple of things that threw me.
#5 - Nice addition of humor to lighten the mood at times.

All in all, a wonderful story and a great start to a new series!
