Vacationing at a gay resort is risky business for Winter Media’s CEO, Graham Winters. In negotiations for the purchase of an anti-LGBTQ publication, if found out he preferred men, the deal would collapse, along with Winter Media’s bottom line. But take a risk, Graham does. He can’t pass up two weeks where he can be himself.

But when Graham arrives at Secretus, there is no record of his reservation. Never one to take no for an answer, he coerces the owner of Secretus, Chris Katsaros, to let him stay in Chris’s home.

Winter Media owns one of the worst gossip rags in the country, so Chris has no choice but to agree to Graham’s terms. Chris keeps a low profile when it comes to Secretus, securing a safe environment where high profile gays can relax without media hounding their every move. An introvert by nature, Chris has a difficult time letting anyone into his life. As a foster kid, he had never experienced love until adopted by Pete and Bob.

Forced to entertain Graham, Chris finds they have more in common than he ever thought. The attraction between them is real, and Chris’s guarded heart begins to thaw.

Interview

Is There a Message in Your Novel That You Want Readers to Grasp?

Yes, in a subtle way it’s about how social media has the power to destroy a person’s reputation or spread fake news. And who is held responsible for this? I don’t hit you over the head with this message, but it’s one of the conflicts between Media mogul Graham Winter and political activist and resort owner, Chris Katsaros. BUT: The book is a romance first and foremost, and that’s what I focused on, more than this message.

Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?

Keeping the middle of the story fresh and interesting. I’m energized in the beginning relieved in the end.

How many books have you written and which is your favorite?

I’ve written sixteen MM romance books, four with author Vina Grey. My favorite is Redemption.  The world building was so much fun to create. The plot complex with interesting twists and turns. Really, a blast to write! The reviews were five stars, but the book tanked. We would have written a sequel if the book had sold well.

If you had the chance to cast your main character from Hollywood today, who would you pick and why?

(Okay, so I cheated and searched on the web)

Graham would be played by a young Gerard Butler. He has the classic good looks and cleans up well in an expensive suit and tie. When he smiles his features soften into someone who looks so kind and genuine. That is Graham’s true nature.

Chris, who is slightly younger, would be played by Penn Badgley. He has the dark, curly hair, and the build, as well as a look of vulnerability that I imagine in Chris.

When did you begin writing?

I began writing in this particular genre in 2009. I had my first book published in 2006.

How long did it take to complete your first book?

I wrote a historical fiction set in WWII. It took me several months to write the book because of the extensive research.

Did you have an author who inspired you to become a writer?

All the authors I’ve read since childhood.

What is your favorite part of the writing process?

Brainstorming ideas with Vina and my writing community. Coming up with the cast of characters and putting them into difficult situations. Most of all, I love plotting and world building.

Describe your latest book in 4 words.

 Romantic, warmhearted, gentle, redemption

Can you share a little bit about your current work or what is in the future for your writing?

Ah, the future. I’ve been horrible on predicting my writing future. I have good intentions, but I also have a very hectic schedule (and Vina’s is even more crazy!). I divide my time between writing and art now. My move to California has caused an increase in my social life, because I spend lots of time with my sibs. Which is great but that means I spend less time writing.

I will be publishing the last book in my Kresnik/vampire series with Loose Id. The book is completed and I will send it to my editor this month. Vina and I have a western romance set in Idaho. We are currently seeking a publisher, hoping it’ll be picked up. And we’re writing Forbidden Bite, featuring Angelo and Jude Mikhail from our Orbus Arcana series.
