A brilliant mathematician and spoiled rich girl, Gretchen, is focused on harnessing Big Data and computing power to control the world stock markets not only to optimize her family’s wealth but also to control the future.

As a descendent of the Nazi Werewolf Clan, is Gretchen being maneuvered into leveraging unlimited computer power along with the ethical nihilism to manipulate lives, or just stretching her genius?

Is Gretchen working alone or is she adding additional computing sources from the Dark Net?

The R-Group, a high-level information gathering and security team, composed of Quip, Otto, Jacob, and Petra along with Julie and Juan’s fledgling group of Cyber Assassin Technology Services teams are trying to isolate the source of the massive computing power required.

Could these cyber schemers be as good at analyzing the information as the R-Group themselves?

Are people unwittingly feeding an ever-growing tsunami of information into increasingly sophisticated computer systems? This begs the question: who controls whom?

Breakfield and Burkey shared their 5th book, The Enigma Stolen, from their award-winning series focused on the relevant world of Big Data and analytics. This one will make you ask who are the winners when humans are herded to a machine's targeted end point?

What Readers are Saying

Kirkus “The covert Werewolf Clan, with ties to Nazis, may be responsible and has been using a computer program to accurately predict stock futures. But it has an even more ambitious plan to link supercomputers around the world and potentially manipulate the future.”

“Wow this series gets better and better with every book I feel. Stakes are high in this one. More people are using the technology to hire assassins to go after high profile people.”

“Yes, I am hooked. I love the way the plot twists and turns throughout the book. As one completes, another arises.”

Interview

Is There a Message in Your Novel That You Want Readers to Grasp?
The message in The Enigma Stolen is regarding the rampant use of BIG DATA treasure troves with the possibility of making decisions on your behalf. Who makes the choice, you as an individual or something else?  Are you sure?

Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
One of big challenges to co-authors who happen to have full time technology jobs that take highest priority is getting all the time we want to invest in the storytelling. When an idea strikes us, we like to run it to the end, but sometimes work calls. Writing for us is more than a hobby but not ready yet for full-time income.

How many books have you written and which is your favorite?
Breakfield and Burkey have written 11 books in this series with book 11 scheduled to release in January 2020. Preorder will be available in December for Ebook at a special discount of $.99.  Our favorite is always the one we are working on. The project in the works working title is The Enigma Combat, slotted for a 2021 release.

If You had the chance to cast your main character from Hollywood today, who would you pick and why?
One of the main evil characters is Gretchen Schmidt.  She is strikingly beautiful, blond haired, blue eyed German of pure breeding.  5'8", slim at 125#, eye catcher who is indifferent unless it serves her purposes. Brilliant in the areas of mathematics and computer sciences. Horrible people skills. Very opportunistic. We would like Kirsten Dunst or Summer Glau considered for this role as one they could sink their teeth into.

When did you begin writing?
Breakfield and Burkey started writing non-fiction together in 2001 with technical non-fiction for our manufacturing company. Then we branched out to fictional novels in 2012 planning The Enigma Factor.  We never dreamed we would write a series at that time, but the ideas and characters kept begging to have their stories told

How long did it take to complete your first book?
It took just short of a year from completion to actually having it in print. That was a marvelous day until we realized just how much marketing we needed to do.

Did you have an author who inspired you to become a writer?

Some of the standard influenced each of us.  We having been reading for a long time and had series like the Hardy Boys we followed. Jack London, Louis L’amour Charles Dickens, and the list goes on.

What is your favorite part of the writing process?
Completing the project or segment in complete agreement that we wrote what we wanted.

Describe your latest book in 4 words.
Is cryptocurrency a threat?

Can you share a little bit about your current work or what is in the future for your writing?

The next book we are working on for a 2021 release has a working title of The Enigma Combat.  In mid-2020 you will find us pushing out samples on social media.  We are working on another character contest like we did on The Enigma Beyond for three new character names. It could just be one of your fans.
