Is There a Message in Your Novel That You Want Readers to Grasp?
I would say that there is
a lot in the world we cannot explain.
Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
The biggest challenge is trying to recreate a world from 100 + years ago
to get the details right.
How many books have you written and which is your favorite?
I have written 10 books and right now Ink Magic: Legacy of the Flower is my favorite. Book 6 of my Pale Rider series, Jackson’s
Chance is my second favorite.
If You had the chance to cast your main character from
For Jack, I could see Joe Keery from Stranger Things in that role.
When did you begin writing?
That’s a tough question. I wrote my first book around 2001, but
did nothing with it until I met my wife who is also an author, helped me turn
the story into a book in 2018.
How long did it take to complete your first book?
It took me between 2001 and 2018 to get it really done.
Did you have an author who inspired you to become a writer?
Barry Sadler – he writes
the Casca series.
What is your favorite part of the writing process?
Figure out the story arc and character building.
Describe your latest book in 4 words.
Action. Adventure. Magic. History.
Can you share a little bit about your current work or what is in the future for your writing?
Presently, I am working on Ink Magic 2, and book 8 of the Pale
Rider series, which will be titled Governor’s Chance.
About the Author
Michael Roberts is a Police Officer in Southern California. He also served in the United States Marine Corps for seven years. This is his first American Historical fiction book, and he drew on much of his previous military experience to write it.
