You’re a high performer who wants a career on your own terms. Maybe you’re exploring the next, best step. Maybe you feel stuck. Maybe you want more. No matter where you are right now, you need options. When you have options, you’re in control. You make decisions from a position of strength. You run to something, not from something.

Options are Power provides strategies for surrounding yourself with options. You’ll learn to lead with a Me-Suite mindset, cultivating the role you want work to play in your life.

You'll create a life in which:

your personal core values drive decisions

your priorities are clear

you’re staying fresh and relevant for the future you want to have

With options, you’ll always have the right, not the obligation, to make a change.

My life mission is to help career-driven, life-minded individuals surround themselves with options.

Options are power. Let’s get in there.

Interview

What was your main drive to write this book?

I am a full-time executive coach and award-winning podcast host. I wrote this coach to capture the top career advice I hear across my practice—advice that addresses the most common questions career professionals have when they’re at a crossroads, feeling stuck, or wanting more. And there’s no better time in our society than this era of The Great Re-evaluation for a book that helps people cultivate the role they want work to play in their lives.

What do you hope readers will learn by reading this book?

I hope readers will have a toolkit for surrounding themselves with options. When we have options, we aren’t trapped. We are in control. Options are power, per the title. If we have options along our life journey, we are running to something not from something. I hope readers will take these career strategies and guidance to shape the future they want to live in.

Did you do much research when planning this book?

I am a student of the neuroscience of leadership. I completed an academic residency in this topic. I also conducted research across my ~200 podcast interviews with diverse professionals and my 20 years coaching leaders across industries and geographies.

Did you have any main people who helped you in the process of this book or influenced you to write it?

This book would not have bee written without a few influential peoples: nudges from my mother, support from my husband, space from my mentor, Arjun Bedi.

How long did this book take you to write from initial thought to hitting publish? Technically, this was a 6-month process from crank it out out to print a manuscript. Many concepts in the book, however, I have been taking notes on for years. One chapter, in particular, I started ten years ago.

Do you have plans to write more about this topic or new topics?

Absolutely. During any given week, we are awake working more hours than we are awake not working. I will continue to dedicate my talents to helping people put work to work for them. And if I win the final round of the fiction contest I mentioned, who knows, I may go deep into that genre this year and see what happens.
