BLOG TOUR - When the Heart Fall by Kimberly Lewis

Title: When the Heart Falls
Author: Kimberly Lewis
Date Published: 10/10/11

Synopsis:
When Misty Prescott moved back home to her parent’s ranch after catching her husband cheating on her, she couldn’t have possibly known that she’d fall for not one, but two cowboys at the same time. Nor could she have known that getting involved with both men would bring unwelcome excitement, turning her already messed up world completely upside down. As Misty’s relationship with Vance Kinney begins, she can’t help but develop an intense attraction to her best friend’s older brother, Dylan McCoy. But just as Misty makes her choice, she indirectly becomes the target of one horrific event after another. Now, Misty must fight the very obstacles that threaten to tear her apart from the man she loves, and survive the danger lurking around every corner that threatens their very lives.

My Rating:

My Review:
I love those kind of books where you just feel good after reading them. This was one of those for me.

Misty's journey is really such a heartfelt one. I hated Vance, I loved Dylan.

This is definitely a quick and light read. It had elements of Romance, of course, which was on the sweet side. It also had elements of mystery and action... not much, but a little.

If you are a fan of western contemporary romances than this book is definitely for you.

AUTHOR INTERVIEW with Kimberly Lewis

Is there a message in your novel that you want
readers to grasp?

Well throughout the novel Misty struggles with her impending
divorce and worries that she’ll never find another man whom
she can trust and give her heart to. I think that is a common
concern for anyone who is either going through a divorce or breakup. But the
thing I’d like readers to take away from this is that there is someone
special out there for everyone and sometimes all it takes is looking
at them through different eyes.

Is there anything you find particularly challenging in
your writing?

I sometimes find it hard to explain why certain things in the
novel are happening. As the writer I know that this event has to
happen in the novel to get from this scene to that scene, but I sometimes
find it difficult to have it make sense from a reader’s point of
view. So whenever that happens I read it over and over again and even
get advice from friends to make sure they understand why that particular
 thing is happening.

How many books have you written and which is your favorite?

I have completed two novels so far, one is published and the other will be coming out
in a few months. As for my favorite…That’s a really hard question to answer. LOL. I
honestly really like them both but if I have to pick one I’d have to pick my newest novel.
I love the characters and loved writing their story.

If you had the chance to cast your main character from Hollywood today, who
would you pick and why?

Oh my. This is a hard question to answer. When I was writing the character of Dylan I
sort of pictured him to look like Paul Walker with those killer blue eyes and gorgeous,
knee weakening smile. I just love him, so that’s why I’d pick him to play DylanJ And as
for Misty…I’d probably pick Rachel McAdams. I think she’s a really good actress and
could really bring the character to life.

When did you begin writing?

I’ve always dabbled in writing but never took it seriously until about two years ago. I
always knew I wanted to write a novel but just didn’t know what I wanted to write about.
Then one day it all came to me. So I began writing and the result was my very first novel.

How long did it take to complete your first book?

The actual writing process only took me about a couple of months. Reading it over and
editing took another couple of months to complete.

Did you have an author who inspired you to become a writer?

It was probably a collaboration of two authors. I read a novel by Suzanne Brockmann that
I absolutely loved and it was the first thing I had ever read of hers. I love her writing style
and how she really pulls you in the story so it feels like you’re actually there. And the
other author would be Carolyn Brown. Ms. Brown writes the sassiest female characters
and some swoon worthy cowboys. I admire both of their work and am inspired by them.

What is your favorite part of the writing process?

I love creating the characters and the world they live in, but my favorite part would
probably have to be developing the story that leads to the main characters falling in love.

Describe your latest book in 4 words.

Heartwarming, Suspenseful, Emotional, Sweet

Can you share a little bit about your current work or what is in the future for your
writing?

I have a new novel coming out in a few months that is another contemporary western
romance. This one is the first in a series that revolves around the McKade family of
Texas. The story follows a young woman, Andi, who is trying to escape from her
past and finds herself in a small town in Texas, and also in the arms of the oldest
McKade brother, Zane. Each of them have their own painful experiences with previous
relationships and after some initial dislike of one another they soon become close. But
just when things look like they are heading for the happily ever after the Andi’s past
comes back to haunt her. I’d love to tell you more but I’m scared I’ll give too much
away. LOL. It’s a very heartwarming read with a little humor and suspense thrown in for
good measure. I’m excited for my readers to read it and I hope they enjoy it very muchJ
