Magster the Cockapoo and her human daddy, Paul, go for a walk in the woods. A mysterious stranger recruits her as a special agent for the Mystic Council of Mages. Her first mission is to protect the “Light of the Ladybird” and so their adventures begin. After a nail-biting duel, Magster’s reputation as a force to be reckoned with is sealed; her work for the Mystic Council of Mages has only just begun.

Interview

Is There a Message in Your Novel That You Want Readers to Grasp?

Yes, there is definitely a message in my books that I want readers to grasp and it comes from Magster and the Light of the Ladybird, the first book….
“ It does not matter how big or small you are. If you have courage, focus and good friends there to help you, you can accomplish anything”.

Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?

I would say that the most challenging part of writing the Magster Series is that I have such a rich universe of characters to call on and therefore, so many options for potential plot changes in front of me. So, I can suffer with what I believe Albert Einstein called, “Option Paralysis”

That is when is when you have so many ideas and options available to you, that you sometimes come to a standstill, in choosing which way to go.

How many books have you written and which is your favorite?
I have written 3 complete books, so far (2 are still in editing stages), but my favourite is Magster and the Magic Beat, which is yet to be published.

If You had the chance to cast your main character from Hollywood today, who would you pick and why?
I would love Magster to be a Hollywood star, however, she would have to be a cartoon character or CGI created. I do not know any real-life Cockapoos, who could fit the bill.
As regards a vocal actor to play the part of Magster in an animation, I would pick Millie Bobby Brown.

When did you begin writing?

I started writing at a very early age but not in any professional capacity. I have been writing little pieces and stories since I was 15 but just for the love of it. I started writing Magster in 2018.

How long did it take to complete your first book?

9 months in total with numerous drafts, copy editing and proof reading.

Did you have an author who inspired you to become a writer?

That is a tough question because I am influenced by so many authors and so many genres.

To name a few:
J. R. R Tolkien, Stephen King, Beatrix Potter, C.S Lewis, A.A Milne, Carlos Ruiz Zafon

What is your favorite part of the writing process?

Writing.

Describe your latest book in 4 words.

Courage, Friendship, Perseverance, Love

Can you share a little bit about your current work or what is in the future for your writing?

Absolutely, so, the next book is called Magster and the Shoal of Gold (Part 1). I am splitting the next part of the adventure into 2 parts because Book 2, as a whole, would be so much bigger than all the rest and it is my aim to present the Magster series in a nice, even looking box set, of at least 6 books.

Shoal of Gold (Part 1) will have my readers being properly introduced to the Mystic Council of Mages and how they work, who they are and also, I will be introducing a lot more characters into the mix, so that will take up a lot of text, hence the split in the story.

What I can tell you about Part 1 is that Magster is summoned to a very important and secret meeting at the Mystic Council’s HQ. She will learn more about and meet her new friends and will then travel to a very large body of water in the UK, to face another dangerous and magical mission in Magster and the Shoal of Gold (Part 2).
