Are you the wife of a professional athlete or high-profile figure ? Are your dreams on hold while you watch your husband live out his?

Sidelined No More discusses one of the greatest struggles of a wife married to a high-profile professional athlete: losing her identity. When she’s thrust into a world of fame, fortune, stress, and pressure, few can relate to or comprehend it. A woman who was once strong, confident, and sure of herself doesn’t even recognize who she sees in the mirror. Who understands? Who can sympathize? Who even sees that there’s a woman behind the shadows of her husband longing to be seen, uncertain of her purpose, and doubtful of her worth? As a former NFL wife herself, author Eileen Noyes will walk with you on a journey to get you out of the shadows and truly living again.

“I see her. I can sympathize. I understand because I was her.” —Eileen

Interview
What was your main drive to write this book? Living in the world of professional sports isn’t easy. From the outside it looks like a lot of glitz and glamour, but there are many parts of that life that aren’t easy. I felt like I went through a lot of my struggles alone, and had to figure things out by myself. My passion is to to come along those younger ones in it now—to help them get through, to let them know that they’re not alone, and just to help them navigate through what many don’t understand.

What do you hope readers will learn by reading this book? My hope is that they will get to the point of knowing who they are and knowing their purpose. When they get to that point, they can strip away what is unnecessary (the expectations and perceptions of those around them) and focus on what truly matters in their lives.

Did you do much research when planning this book? My life experiences were there for the taking so I wouldn’t say I had to do a lot of “research.” Lots of praying and growing in strength to endure though!

Did you have any main people who helped you in the process of this book or influenced you to write it?

How long did this book take you to write from initial thought to hitting publish?

Do you have plans to write more about this topic or new topics? Yes. I’m in works with a pocket size devotional and prayer book, as well as finally discussing in depth the journey of walking away from the game, enduring through cult involvement and the struggles of NFL transition out of the game.
