This is a testimony of faith: real, tested, questioned, and ultimately transformed.
In this deeply personal journey, Taylor Turner shares her walk with God through seasons that challenged everything she thought she knew about faith. With honesty and vulnerability, she invites readers into her story, revealing what it truly means to trust God—not only in moments of joy, but in times when life feels uncertain, overwhelming, and beyond control.
This book is for real people who wrestle with doubt, who carry questions, and who have experienced seasons where belief does not come easily. It is for anyone who has ever wondered where God is in the middle of their story.
Though not a story of perfect faith, My Story, God's Glory is a story of growing faith. Page by page, one truth becomes clear: a relationship with God is not formed in comfort, but in surrender—shaped in the very moments that test us most.
Inspired by the call of Jesus in Mark 16:15 to “go into all the world and proclaim the gospel,” this story is shared to declare what God has done and to point others back to Him.
If you are searching, struggling, or longing for something deeper, this book will remind you that God is nearer than you think—and that your story is not finished.
Because even when faith feels weak, God remains faithful.
What was your main drive to write this book?
My biggest motivation was the Holy Spirit continually nudging my heart to share my story. I also wanted to leave something meaningful behind for my son and daughter. Long after I am gone, I want them to have these words and know what God brought me through, how faithful He has been, and how He carried me even in my hardest moments. This book is part of the legacy of faith I hope to leave them.
What do you hope readers will learn by reading this book?
More than anything, I hope readers discover that there is a loving God who desires a personal relationship with them. They do not have to walk through this life alone. Life is hard, and grief, pain, and disappointment are real, but there is hope and healing in Jesus. Following Him does not mean life will be easy, but it is so much better with Him by your side. If my story encourages even one person to turn toward Jesus instead of away from Him, then sharing it was worth it.
Did you do much research when planning this book?
Because this book is my personal testimony, most of it came from my own experiences and memories. I did, however, have diaries I kept during the hospital stay, and going back through those pages was incredibly difficult. Reading my own words from such a painful season brought back emotions I had to work through all over again. Those journals helped me tell my story honestly and remember details I might otherwise have forgotten.
Did you have any main people who helped you in the process of this book or influenced you to write it?
My daughter was one of my biggest inspirations for writing this book. I wanted her, and eventually my son, to have a lasting account of my story and God’s faithfulness. My husband and family were also an important part of the process. Writing this while being a wife and mother meant revisiting some very painful moments in the middle of the life God has blessed me with today. It was not easy, but their love and support helped me through it. In many ways, the writing process became part of my own healing.
How long did this book take you to write from initial thought to hitting publish?
It took about four years from the first thought to publication. For a long time, I felt the Holy Spirit pressing on my heart to share my story, but I kept questioning why. I thought, “Who am I? Why would anyone want to read my story?” Yet that nudge never went away. One day, I finally started organizing my thoughts and slowly began writing. There were seasons when I had to stop, take breaks, and work through difficult emotions in therapy. Reliving those memories was much harder than I expected, but I believe God was working in me throughout the process. What began as a quiet nudge became a testimony I could finally share.
Do you have plans to write more about this topic or new topics?
I do not currently plan to write another book specifically about this part of my story, but I absolutely plan to keep writing. I already have a family Bible study available, and my heart is to create more resources that help families grow closer to Jesus Christ and closer to one another. I truly believe faith starts in the home. My passion is to encourage parents to be intentional about teaching their children God’s Word, having meaningful conversations, and building a home centered on Christ.
